Tune in each week. to hear more in this week's show. I'm discussing the key questions I get asked around training for fertility. These are the questions that my clients are most concerned about because they know that training for fertility can be complicated and it is different to regular training. So here are the key factors you need to consider when training for fertility.

Number one. Time to treatment. If you are three months or more away from treatment, then you can afford to work out with more intensity especially if you're trying to lower your BMI before treatment. This means you can work hard in your HIIT sessions lift heavier in the weight room, or crank up the elevation on the treadmill.

Number 2 if you have less than three months to treatment, then you must consider your intensity. Aim for around a 6 out of 10. This equates to a moderate intensity, which is safer for fertility. It means you're less likely to be putting your body under too much stress less likely to get injured and less likely to burn out and deplete your general health. Excess stress can also affect your progesterone levels and progesterone is key when trying to conceive.

Number 3 Time you're spending working out per week in addition to intensity the number of hours you're working out should also be monitored. Research suggests around four hours of per week m- maximum is safe when training for fertility.

Number four. Really consider including weight training in your workouts. The benefits to weight training are endless. Not only can increased muscle mass support insulin resistance, something which is common in women with PCOS but it's also fantastic for fat burn and improving bone density and

Number five. Do not skip your cool down. The cool down is key to relaxing your muscles and your mind after your workout. This is crucial for fertility as you want to keep your adrenaline and cortisol levels low as stress hormones like cortisol have also been shown to interfere with ovulation something you definitely want to avoid when trying to conceive.
